Nothing to Wear

I have nothing to wear.
On a daily basis.
Or at least I don't think I have anything to wear.

Because I'm at that point where I'm so proud of how far I've come that I want to start looking nicer in my clothes, but don't want to spend the money on buying nice clothes because I still have so much more to lose.

You with me?
Here is my closet.

I know, it's kind of ridiculous.
And good thing I just cleaned it out about a week ago, or else there would be no picture today.

But daily, I stand in the doorway to my closet, looking for something that isn't there. Looking for clothes that fit. That don't me look quite so large. That are cute, and trendy, and don't make me look like a housewife.

And they are not there. Because I am still large, and I am still a housewife.

It takes times sweet turtle. I suggest buying clothes that fit at Old Navy..you can find really inexpensive things that are trendy..and you don't need to keep them long to get your $$ worth. It's what I do. The fact is I have so much to lose that I have to buy new clothes, wear them for a season then move on..but I'd rather do that than walk around in yucky old clothes that are way too big. :)

I know EXACTLY what you mean!! And I agree... Old Navy. But get a size or two too small.. for sure. They run big and stretch. And what is wrong with being a housewife?? Hmm?? lol ;) jk

Turtle, can I ask you what size you're in right now? I just boxed up a ton of really cute stuff. Let me know and I'll see what I have in there. It's all staples and will get you through the gaps until you're at the size you want to be! :)

Erin, I'm somewhere between a 14 and a 16 on bottom, and large and extra large on top. And I love me some Old Navy ladies!! But for some reason the jeans just do.not.fit. Thanks for the suggestions! I'll go shirt shopping. ( which clearly is not my problem area)

Oh I feel you - and I have to say my old closet looked EXACTLY like that, minus the scrubs. LOL

Even after -66 lbs I still have a hard time buying clothes for myself because I am not working and have not yet met goal. I do have to say the few times I've broken down and gotten something it's made me feel oh so good. Even if it's a $2 shirt of the clearance rack at Target. ;-)

I am dreading this phase! I am still barely fitting in the clothes from the beginning of my journey and I am needing to go down a size but there is nothing in my closet to go down to! and I'm flat broke. lol. I guess I'll just keep wearing the clothes that are too big for now. I did find a few cute things at goodwill. I think that place is going to be my heaven during this!

Yep, I'm right there with you. My closet is so sad. And like you, I don't want to spend alot of money on clothes that I have no intentions of wearing for very long. What's a girl to do?

The Turtle's Husbands point of view......the turtle forgot to mention that part of the closet can not been by this picture angle. There are shoes, shoes, shoes and more shoes, a few dresses and even more jackets! Regardless, the Turtle is not "still large" or "still a housewife" she is my beautiful bride. From my point of view, she is the hottest female on the planet!

And can we get a collective "Awww" for Turtle's hubs?!?

If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. =)
